Dr. Josť Lanters will present on the Irish Travellers--sometimes called Tinkers.
Josť Lanters is professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she also co-directs the Center for Celtic Studies, and has published widely on Irish fiction and drama. Her most recent book is *The Tinkers in Irish Literature* (Irish Academic Press, 2008), and she is currently writing a monograph on the theatrical oeuvre of Thomas Kilroy. Professor Lanters is a past president of the American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS), and currently serves as Vice Chair for North America on the executive committee of the International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures (IASIL).
