But for this collection to be found within miles of the newly established Ward Irish Music Archives in Milwaukee surely is one great story. When Dr. David Dunn, a retired pediatrician from Children's Hospital, first approached the Archives about the Francis O'Neill cylinders recorded around 1904, it was clear that the family had a cultural and historical treasure that needed to be shared with the greater Irish community, especially those interested in Irish music...around the world. Barry Stapleton has been involved in the Irish community most of his life and worked as the manager at the ICHC and is a past-president of the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin. He has been director of the Ward Irish Music Archives for 10 years. Jeff Ksiazek is the Archivist at the Ward Irish Music Archives and has a masters degree in Library & Information Science with a Certificate from the Celtic Studies program at UWM. He is also in the Milwaukee Irish band Athas.
