MEETING SCHEDULES FOR I.G.S.W.

Membership meetings are held the first Monday of each month (except December).


A NOTE ABOUT MEETING LOCATIONS:

The Irish Cultural and Heritage Center (ICHC) is located at 2133 West Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Milwaukee, housed in the historic former Grand Avenue Congregational Church. Parking is available for evening programs in the two lots just south of the alley behind the building, accessible via 23rd street. The ICHC is also home to the Irish Emigration Library, sponsored by the Irish Genealogical Society of Wisconsin. Visit the ICHC web site for more information

The Shorewood Public Library is located at 3920 N. Murray Ave.Shorewood WI 53211, one block south of Capitol Drive and three blocks east of Oakland Avenue in Shorewood.  Programs will be held in the lower level meeting room. Parking will be available behind the building, accessible via Frederick Avenue. 6 p.m. - another field trip with an early start time
St. Patrick's, Town of Erin

East of HWY 65 (south of New Richmond, WI) about 4½ miles on County Road G


Another field trip while we have warm weather.

Come with us to the Town of Erin. Visit St. Patrick's Cemetery with Irish graves back to the 1800s. Also see one of the few remaining churches that was built in the form of a cross. Then, a visit to the Tally Ho Tavern next to the cemetery would be welcome for a little socialization and maybe a glass of Guiness.

Night of the Roundtables

The Night of the Roundtables is your chance to share your genealogy quest with other IGSW members. Our roundtables - small group discussions - let you get and give advice, share your successes, collaborate with others, and use the resources of the Irish Emigration Library. Roundtables are now in the planning stages.

IGSW Annual Holiday Gathering
Featuring Irish Music and Dancing by Cuil A'Lin


In addition to our usual sampling of good company, lively conversation and homemade treats, this year's holiday meeting will feature a mini-concert with live entertainment by the band Cuil A'Lin. Bring a dish or treats to share, and the ICHC pub will be open (cash bar). Members are encouraged to invite family members and guests.

IGSW programs are free and open to the public, and are held eleven times per year, usually on the first Monday of each month except December. Programs are held at The Shorewood Village Center inside the Shorewood Public Library, or at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center (ICHC), home to the Society's research library. In addition, some summer programs are excursions to other locations.

The Shorewood Village Center is located at 3920 N. Murray Ave., in the lower level of the Shorewood Public Library one block south of Capitol Drive.  The Irish Cultural and Heritage Center is located at 2133 W. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee just west of Marquette University, in the historic Tory Hill neighborhood.

    Library programs are free and open to the public.
